She is the daughter of Harvey Welker, a Native American Father as well as Julie Welker, an African American mother. Her father works in engineering while her mother is an estate agent. Walker went to her school at the Germantown Friends School located in Philadelphia's Germantown in 1994, and was awarded the diploma in 1994. When she graduated of Harvard College in 1998, she went to Harvard College and earned her bachelor of Arts. Welker is happily married for more than 20 years with John Hughes who is a famous marketing director at Merck Philadelphia. They are parents to two children. In 2014 they began having an affair with one other. John her husband is four years less than her. They decided to bring their relationship to a higher level because it was running so smoothly.
