Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. She was born and raised in Barcelona. Her eclectic musical style has earned her the status of "atypical pop star". In the wake of being fascinated by Spanish folk music at the age of thirteen, she studied musicology at the Catalonia College of Music while playing at music bars and weddings.She finished her studies with distinction, thanks to the cover album she recorded with Raul Refree in Los Angeles (2017) and her Baccalaureate-related project El Mal Querer (2018). The project reinvented flamenco and mingled it with pop and hip-hop music.
