April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star from the United States is part of a select category of females who have had medals won in several Olympics. The American will play in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic medal, along with Alix Klineman, a first time Olympian. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic Gold. This could be the final chance she'll ever have when she turns 39. However, she remains optimistic that most prestigious prizes are in reach. Ross said on NBC Boston that he believes If they can play at their absolute best, or even one of their best games, they will be able to win gold. In addition, I'm planning attempt to get chance. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents and her sister. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of activities while at Newport Harbor High School. As a student-athlete she also played indoor volleyball and track. In the last sport, she clearly stood out. In her time at the high school level According to her university biography she played as an outside blocker, middle blocker setter and hitter. She was named The Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the Year in 1999, for her performance. The award also went to her in 2000. Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Although Ross and Klineman are a couple since 2017, the former was already an established star on the beach long before their pairing. In fact, she's been a major player on the beach throughout the years. Ross actually won several tournaments, including one that was won by a famous volleyball star. The pair was Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, as well as serving as Klineman and Kessy's coach. Along with Kessy Ross, she won a World Title in 2009 when she competed in the international circuit. They won a Silver Medal in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) as well as Misty Maytreanor took home gold overtaking them. The fate of the matter was that Ross got Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. In 2016, the duo won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a player for the Trojans from USC during high school after she finished her high school. The time she spent at USC was impressive. In 2000 she was selected Pac-10 Freshman and NCAA Freshman Of The Year. In addition, she was she was an All-American. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans reach the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a heartbreaking personal loss in her sophomore year however she was able to return her place as an All-American. The last two years as a player, she steered the Trojans to the top of the mountain by winning two consecutive national championships. Individually she had cemented her place as a legend winning the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross majored in foreign relations and international affairs at USC. Unfortunately, Ross mother Margie never got to see her daughter reach the top levels of beach volleyball fame. As of 2001, when Ross was in her sophomore year studying at USC her mother died of breast cancer. Ross holds her mother in her arms. Margie is a constant source of inspiration for her, in and out of the water.
